Introverted Sensing (Si): Miss Peregrine has built a “lovely home” for her children, full of delights and comforts, to help content them in their isolation from the outside world. Each day, she commits herself to the same necessary tasks, which include turning up on time to kill the Hollow, answering the phone call from Abe, resetting the Time Loop in the evening, and assigning the children daily chores (Emma and the squirrel, for one). She urges Jake to adhere to their habit of looking neither to the past, nor to the future, but “living life in the present".
Extroverted Thinking (Te): She is punctual, efficient and speaks with logical detachment, about time, its uses, its calculations and how one can use it (“Therefore, it would take you eighteen minutes to arrive”!). Miss Peregrine does not mind setting rules. She has authority with her children, and refuses to allow anyone else to tell them what to do (but expects her orders to be obeyed!). Once the villain invades her territory, Miss Peregrine makes a rational, but self-sacrificing, decision (she will go with him, and leave Jake to protect the children, since he is the only one who can see Hollows).
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Her emotions only come to the forefront when she faces the possibility of losing her children. Her intense devotion to them, her method of settling disputes and her affection for them all shine in her actions, her protectiveness and her willingness to devote her life to their cause, even if it means dying on their behalf. She does not open up about her feelings easily, and when upset, goes off to be alone.
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Miss Peregrine has good instincts; she quickly reads situations, and sees the broader context. She knows the methods behind her enemies’ movements, and has plans to handle them, but she prefers to live in safety and routine than to venture out into the unknown.
